This May, the fully remote FormAssembly team was finally able to travel from all corners of the globe and connect in person during our 2022 all-team reunion in Phoenix, Arizona. Our annual reunion is our most important event of the year because it gives us the opportunity to spend time together, reflect on past successes, and prepare for the future of FormAssembly. However, this year’s reunion holds great significance — due to the pandemic, this was the first time our team has gathered in person since 2019.

While our virtual all-team reunions in 2020 and 2021 allowed us to stay connect from afar in unprecedented times, finally gathering in person and meeting all our coworkers in real life (many for the first time ever) was extra special. The team flew in from all over the world to gather at Hilton Phoenix Tapatio Cliffs Resort, explored Phoenix and all the activities it has to offer (including ATV tours, hiking, rappelling, hot air ballooning, and more), and most importantly, spent time together. Read on to get a recap of our adventures from our most memorable reunion yet.

Day 1

After hours spent traveling from several different continents, we were all happy to arrive and check-in at the resort! We kicked off the first day of our annual reunion with a welcome dinner and reception spent connecting with coworkers and playing yard games. We even got to celebrate two birthdays — Aken Roberts, Product Engineer, and Bridget Cichowicz, Implementation Advisor.

Day 2

Tuesday marked the first full day of the reunion, and the team hit the ground running for a wide range of activities around Phoenix that morning including hiking, yoga, rappelling, baking, and a botanical garden tour. That afternoon, the team gathered back at the hotel for a state-of-the-company address by Cedric Savarese, FormAssembly Founder and CEO, followed by an executive panel discussion.

The hiking and yoga group takes a break to catch a view of the Phoenix city skyline.

The ropes and rappelling group put their adventurous side to the test at Rappel AZ.

Team members show off scratch-made croissants at L’Academie School of Baking & Cooking.

Marketing team members strike a pose during their tour of the Desert Botanical Garden.

FormAssembly executives discuss employee-submitted questions during Tuesday’s panel.

Day 3

Wednesday marked the halfway point of this year’s reunion, filled with numerous indoor and outdoor activities all over the Phoenix area, including an ATV tour with Arizona Outdoor Fun, a brewery tour, and a taco tour. The day ended with a night of socializing, bowling, arcading, and laser tag at Mavrix.

Asuka Goya and Steven Watkins enjoy the stunning, wild views while kayaking the Salt River.

Day 4

Thursday continued the many adventures for our team, and there was something for everyone — including an escape room, hot air ballooning, and wine tasting. We ended the day by visiting The Social Hall in Tempe, AZ for team dinner, yard games, and even an impromptu karaoke session.

Team members wave goodbye for now as their hot air balloon soars to 1,600 feet above the desert.

Day 5

Friday marked the last day of this year’s company reunion, and after meeting for coffee and saying goodbyes, the team split off to head home or continue on their travels for the weekend.

Fun in the Philippines

Several members of the FormAssembly team call the Philippines home. While they were unable to connect with us in Arizona, they spent time together on their own adventures.

Making an in-person connection

Since we’ve brought on dozens of new team members within the last two years, we were thrilled with the chance to finally connect as a group and meet each other in person. As a fully remote company, these reunions are an important part of every year, giving us a chance to grow in our friendships and bond with those we’ve never met.
