What do you get when you bring nearly 50 remote teammates, who traveled across 6 countries for a total of 47,000 miles, together for one incredible week at company headquarters? Days of team bonding and plenty of fun memories!
FormAssembly’s annual reunion was held this year during the week of May 14-18 in the heart of Bloomington, Indiana. Staff had the opportunity to meet new and old coworkers, collaborate in teams, and even work together on daily Customer Support “power hours” to continue providing support to customers while we were away. We also scheduled plenty of time for fun bonding activities, whether it was enjoying arcade games, splitting pizza at local restaurants, or playing rounds of cornhole at nightly cookouts.

Day 1

Monday kicked off a travel day for most teammates, with flights arriving to Indiana throughout the day. That evening, the whole team met at a local hotspot for drinks and dinner. For newcomers, it was a great way to kick off the week and connect faces to names. A get-to-know-you quiz helped everyone mix and mingle and find out some interesting facts about our fellow FormAssembly coworkers.

Day 2

The second day of our reunion started bright and early with breakfast and plenty of coffee! Staff had the chance to hear from CEO and Founder, Cedric Savarese, in his annual “State of the Company” address. Directors and team leads from each department also presented on yearly goals, growth, and changes.

The afternoon was complete with team lunches around Bloomington, followed by an intense few hours of arcade games, air hockey, and even laser tag. A little friendly competition goes a long way in creating lasting team memories!

That evening, everyone headed out to our CEO’s house for dinner. It was a family event complete with gorgeous scenery, animals, a bonfire, and even a jam session courtesy of our more musically-inclined teammates.

Tuesday night’s cookout was open to staff, family, and even dogs and horses!

Day 3

On Day 3, we continued our tradition of taking a trip to Lake Monroe for an afternoon of boating, canoeing, and jet-skiing. The mid-day rain and storms stayed away and allowed us to enjoy a wonderful afternoon relaxing in the sun. That night, teams split up by department to grab dinner and explore more fun activities around Bloomington like bowling, golf, and escape rooms.

Day 4

As the week began to wind down, staff enjoyed a morning to grab breakfast with coworkers and check-in with various work projects. By lunchtime, we were ready for more adventure and headed to Scenic View, a restaurant that overlooks Lake Monroe.
Day 4 ended with a farewell cookout at a team member’s home. Even though it was hot and humid for mid-May in Indiana, team members had a blast spending one last night together outside. We took our annual team picture, mingled with family and friends, and said our farewells.

Day 5

As the saying goes, all good things must come to an end! Friday was spent traveling back home to locations across the United States and as far away as India and Japan. Although it was bittersweet to leave such a fun week behind, we headed home to rest up and jump right back in to our routines. As always, the reunion gave us great memories, new ideas, and fresh perspective on our mission as a company and as a team.
