The FormAssembly 2019 reunion was a tremendous success! September 9-13, members of the FormAssembly team traveled from all around the world to meet up in Sonoma, California for a week of collaboration and team building. Our remote team has grown significantly since the past reunion, making the 2019 reunion our biggest and best one yet.
The annual FormAssembly all-team reunion is our most important company culture event of the year, as it provides us the opportunity to reunite with old coworkers and get to know new members of the team. It’s a time for us to come together and reflect on the past, present, and bright future of FormAssembly, as well as participate in tons of fun activities—ziplining and horseback riding to name a few! Check out our recap below for a glimpse into the FormAssembly 2019 reunion.
The FormAssembly team began to assemble on Monday, September 9, as everyone traveled into Sonoma from their respective locations worldwide. After flights, shuttles, and hotel check-ins, the team met up at Bear Republic Brewery for a reunion kickoff reception. We broke the ice with a fun getting-to-know you game over dinner and drinks.
The first full day of the FormAssembly 2019 reunion kicked off with a headshot photo session and breakfast at the hotel. Later that morning, FormAssembly Founder and CEO, Cedric Savarese, presented the State of the Company Address, followed by presentations from the rest of the FormAssembly leadership team.
After company updates and lunch at the hotel, we ventured off in groups to the breakout activities of our choice, which included a cooking class, horseback riding, golf, and even a safari adventure through Wine Country!
To round out the day, we walked as a group to a local bowling alley where we ate pizza, bowled, and spent more time with coworkers.
After breakfast and coffee, Wednesday was a day of adventures for the FormAssembly team! We hopped on a bus to Armstrong Redwoods National Forest, where naturalists led us on a guided walk through the redwoods, followed by a picnic lunch.
Our morning in the redwoods was followed by more breakout activities of our choice, this time including ziplining, kayaking, and a beach tour. Zipliners soared through the redwoods, kayakers explored the Russian River in Jenner, and beachgoers toured the Sonoma Coast.
We finished off our action-packed day with dinner as a team at Belly Kitchen & Taproom in downtown Santa Rosa.
Breakfast was followed by a winery tour, with some team members opting for a tour by bike, and others opting for a tour by bus. We toured some of Sonoma’s favorite wineries, tasted great local wine, enjoyed a lunch outdoors, and enjoyed our last full day of the FormAssembly 2019 reunion.
That evening, we headed back to the hotel for our team photo, followed by a fun farewell cocktail hour and dinner.
After a week of fun with coworkers, the team was homeward bound! We gathered for one final breakfast and said goodbye for now until the next reunion.
The FormAssembly 2019 reunion allowed our team to get to know each other beyond just screens and Slack messages, something we’re all grateful for year after year. We left the reunion stronger as a team, feeling encouraged about all the exciting things to come for FormAssembly!
