October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and the team at FormAssembly prioritizes cybersecurity and data privacy throughout all of our internal employee processes and customer processes. Ongoing training is crucial for any company that wants to stay proactive against evolving cybersecurity threats, and every member of the FormAssembly team participates in monthly and annual cybersecurity training sessions for this reason.

In this blog post, we’ll explain how your business’ security team can use FormAssembly’s form builder and data collection platform as a key part of cybersecurity training.

Build training quizzes with FormAssembly

There’s a lot of ground to cover in cybersecurity training, with topics including password best practices, phishing awareness, compliance requirements, and more. On top of that, cybersecurity threats are always changing. With all of this in mind, it’s important to make sure employees retain the knowledge you share with them.

On our own team, we use FormAssembly to build quizzes that assess our team members’ cybersecurity knowledge. Quizzes are a great way to get insight into which team members may need extra support, and they also help our employees remember important cybersecurity guidelines. Follow these steps to build your own cybersecurity quiz in FormAssembly.

Step 1: Click the “New Form” link in the left sidebar. Select “Blank Form.”

Step 2: Add a title to the form to coordinate with the training.

Step 3: Create a new page.

Step 4: On the first page, add text input fields so respondents can enter their first name, last name, and any other information you’ll need to track which team members filled out the form.

Step 5: Add another page. On this page, build out multiple choice questions with radio button fields. Feel free to use additional pages to break up your quiz, or keep all the questions inline on one page.

Step 6: Mark questions as required fields to ensure that respondents answer all of the questions before they submit.

Pro Tip: “For added security, FormAssembly recommends enabling the SAML functionality. This will ensure the user is who they say they are and allows you to keep the form private. Additionally, if it’s your annual security awareness attestation, it’s worth considering using the e-signature function. Since your employees are attesting to their understanding of your Information Security Program, it’s always a safety net to have a legal way to get consent or approval on electronic documents or forms. It can replace a handwritten signature in virtually any process.”

Step 7: View the form response report to evaluate answers.
