We love getting to know our customers and partners, but we realized you don’t really know us! In this Employee Highlight series, we will be introducing the teammates that make FormAssembly awesome. Today, meet Katya Ivanova, our UX Designer.
Title: UX Designer
Time at FormAssembly: 1 year, 11 months
1. What interested you about FormAssembly in the first place?
When I joined, there were only about 15 people on board. I was interested in learning more about how a small business is run from all angles. I knew that being on such a small team would provide me with an invaluable opportunity to work directly with people from all of our teams like sales, marketing, customer success, and the CEO himself.
2. What do you love about what you do? About FormAssembly as a whole?
I love how engaged and dedicated everyone in the company is to the improvement of the product. With such a small company, we work hard to get improvements to the customers as quickly as possible. It makes me feel proud to see the results of my design process go live and receive positive feedback from our customers.
3. What has been your proudest moment at FormAssembly?
I am proud to say that I worked on the total Gemini redesign of the FormAssembly product from the beginning to its current state. Being part of the entire design process from the research to early sketches to the final designs and testing was definitely one of my biggest accomplishments here. All of the immediate positive feedback we received from our customers validated that the long and painful process was totally worth it.
4. If your team had to use one word to describe you, what would it be and why?
I asked Andy, our developer, he said, “Artsy.” I would take his word for it. He knows what he’s talking about.
Comments from the team:
“She has a critical eye and is really good at envisioning a user flow start to finish while being mindful of alternative paths and preexisting processes. Her designs are clean and efficient but she likes to add delight into the interactions as well.”
– Brittany Arnett, Product Manager
5. What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?
I am addicted to hiking and traveling. I am currently answering these questions out in Patagonia! Also, I like to paint, make art, and play music.
6. What’s something not a lot of people know about you?
Don’t judge me, but I really don’t like smores. I like all of the ingredients individually – graham crackers, burnt marshmallows, and chocolate. Just not together.
7. What’s your spirit animal? Why?
A platypus- it is a mix of the hard working beaver, the playful otter, and the graceful duck.
