Bloomington, IN (October 14)-Veer West LLC announced today that the company’s leading web form management solution, FormAssembly, is now compliant with the new EU-U.S. Privacy Shield.

“With a number of International customers, complying with evolving security standards and requirements is always a top priority for us and our business,” said FormAssembly CEO Cedric Savarese. “Our compliance with the EU-U.S. Privacy Shield is no exception.”

FormAssembly sought the assistance of third party auditor TRUSTe in ensuring EU-U.S. Privacy Shield compliance.

The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield has been adopted in the wake of the Safe Harbor Framework, which was invalidated by the Court of Justice of the European Union in October of last year.

The EU-U.S. Privacy Shield requires:

  • Added security obligation on companies handling data
  • Safeguards and transparency in relation to government data access
  • Increased protection of European individual rights
  • Annual review mechanism

For European customers, this means increased transparency regarding transfers of personal data to the U.S., in addition to stronger protection of that data.
