FormAssembly Teammate Highlight: Clint Blakey

At FormAssembly, each member of our team is a huge component of our success. In our FormAssembly Teammate Highlight series, we’re asking a series of questions to each of our team members to get to know them better. This week, we’re profiling Clint Blakey, FormAssembly QA Engineer.

Name: Clint Blakey
Title: QA Engineer
FormAssembly Start Date: February 2019

1. What interested you about FormAssembly in the first place?

The product is a great idea. Every business needs web forms these days, and hiring a development team can be cost-prohibitive.

2. What’s your favorite thing about your job?

The tech stack, hands down. Being in QA gives me the opportunity to look at every aspect of what we do. Lots to learn, and lots to influence… the team is pretty cool as well.

3. What excites you most about your position and growth opportunity at FormAssembly?

My professional background consists almost entirely of working for enterprise organizations. Good ideas from the floor-level employee are oftentimes dead before they even get a chance to be heard. Trying to push them up through the levels of bureaucracy is beyond an uphill battle, at best. My experience here is quite different; ideas are heard and appreciated. The possibility of having a significant, positive effect on the whole organization is very exciting.

4. What has been your proudest moment at FormAssembly?

I think my proudest moment is getting Angel (FormAssembly Knowledge Coordinator) to quote “you’re killing me, Smalls.”

5. What unique qualities do you bring to the FormAssembly team?

Identifying unique qualities is a bit difficult. The qualities I would normally highlight, such as positivity, openness, and motivation have been demonstrated by many others within the organization. My background in development, quality, and network/system administration is usually unique, but I’ve seen that demonstrated as well.

6. What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?

Spending time with the family, remodeling our home, watching hours of YouTube videos to learn how to remodel our home, continuing my education, and in my free time smoking tasty meats and gaming.

7. What’s something not a lot of people know about you?

I do an excellent Stitch impersonation, from Lilo & Stitch… according to my children.

8. Who was your role model/hero as a child? Why?

G.I. Joe, all of them. They exhibited characteristics that, even as a child, I admired. Teamwork, loyalty, perseverance, and the ability to overcome staggering odds. Granted, the fact that the Vipers had worse accuracy than Stormtroopers also helped.

9. What’s your spirit animal? Why?

Dolphin. We’re both silly, playful, fiercely protective of those we care about, and are often confused with being a porpoise.
