Get to know more of our awesome team! Today, meet Kari Shaevitz, our Accounting & HR Manager.

Name: Kari Shaevitz
Title: Accounting & HR Manager
With FormAssembly Since: March 2015

1. What interested you about FormAssembly in the first place?

I was looking for a change of pace but needed to be able to still balance my home life and work. When I saw that I could work remotely, I was intrigued and decided to apply. After learning more about FormAssembly and meeting some of the employees, I knew it was going to be a great place to work.

2. What do you love about what you do? About FormAssembly as a whole?

My days are always different and that keeps things interesting. Between my accounting and HR responsibilities, I get the opportunity to work with everyone. We have a great group of people who really make work feel less like work.

4. What has been your proudest moment at FormAssembly?

The 2016 reunion was particularly cool to pull off. Because we are remote, a lot of us have never met. While coordinating the arrival, entertainment and departure of 27 individuals was a bit tricky, the end result was a great opportunity to get to know one another and spend time outside of our work environment. Already looking forward to doing it again in 2017!

5. If your co-workers had to use one word to describe you, what would it be and why?

I didn’t want to speak for them, so I asked. Here’s what they said! 🙂

Amazingly-necessary! I would go insane without Kari. Billing and admin people normally get a bad rap for being replaceable, but seriously if I didn’t have her to go to when closing deals, setting up billings, etc. I’d be lost and the productivity would grind to a halt.”

– Peter Bernardi, Channel Solutions Engineer

“Kari is enthusiastic and determined, She gets stuff done, but has fun at the same time. We all know if we ever need anything, Kari will have it done in no time, usually making us laugh along the way!”

– Andrea Hall, Support Team Lead

“Kari does so much behind the scenes, from handling payroll, to organizing reunions, coordinating business trips, and so much more. She is indispensable.”

– Andy Hall, Developer

6. What are some of your favorite activities outside of work?

I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my kids play sports. I am the definition of a sports mom and never miss a game, obnoxiously cheering from the sidelines. I also enjoy traveling and hope to do more of it in the future.

7. What’s something not a lot of people know about you?

I’ve played the flute since I was 11.

8. Who was your role model/hero as a child? Why?

Wonder Woman, because she could handle anything and looked fabulous while doing it.

9. What’s your spirit animal? Why?

According to an online quiz, which is very scientific, its a deer… Strong intuition and the ability to deal with challenges with grace. I would say I agree with that.
